Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have shot down missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported wreckage landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
